I have an automatic watch which runs 5 minutes fast a day. Is that normal, or should it be 5 minutes a month?
If the watch is running consistently fast it needs to be adjusted. Even five minutes a month is too much for a good watch. Take it to a jeweler for regulating.
It means that the oscillator has been ‘trimmed’ incorrectly. When accurately adjusted, it shouldn’t gain or lose more than a few seconds per -year-.

Your watch is broken. No watch should run fast unless it was designed to do that.
Good Luck!
